Weaving Workshop

At the Khayelitsha Community Hub, discarded chip packets and other plastics are given new life.

Collected, cleaned, and transformed into durable thread, these recycled materials are woven together with mixed cottons to create beautiful, functional items, from handbags and purses to rugs and accessories.

This initiative not only reduces waste but also provides sustainable income opportunities for local artisans, turning everyday trash into tools of empowerment.
